Can someone explain this cast, please?
What is it? How do you do it? Why use it?
Thanks.

I do not know anything about this cast. If Lambert, Rich or Dick don't see this post, check out the website called "Sexy Loops". Look around on that site and do a search to see if they have had discussion on the cast.

Good luck.

Yeah, it is a dry fly technique. Basically make a cast and don't shoot line. Instead pin the line and let the force of the line going forward rebound off the end of the rod and it will bounce back causing a bunch of little s-curves in the line and the fly will flutter straight down. I pull the handle back and down at the end as well. It helps with reducing drag when dry fly fishing moving water, and it also produces a soft landing. I don't see a real application in the salt.....but then again, there are a lot of things I don't see! Hope this helps!!
