Why do some loops " Swing around" out of plane on a forward or back cast.. Question

When I false cast up to about 40' of line this does not happen. But when I false cast over 50'-55' it does? Sometimes it results in a tailing loop and others times is does not.. Question

Rich, does this happen when you are "used" to casting one rod with a particlular flex, then change to another rod with a different flex?

If the tailer is coming only on the final cast, my guess would be that you're thinking distance and you might be applying too much power too early in your final forward stroke. (note, that I'm not an expert....if I have distance problems, I just paddle up to the fish and drop it in from on him like I've got a cane pole Mr. Green )

Bart, it would happen with any rod. Doesn’t mater. I believe your right though. I've been working on it and believe it's a combination of to much power, acceleration and line speed and also off line tracking. It's only when I false cast 50' to 55' for a 80' cast. When I focus on a smoother stroke and accelerate graudually it goes away. Thanks for your input!
