Captain David Borries is a U.S. Coast Guard Licensed Captain who specializes in inshore light tackle and fly fishing. He has been fishing northeast Florida for over 20 years and has been a full-time guide for over 10 years. As a kid growing up in Biloxi, Mississippi, his fondest memories are fishing with his father out of a wooden row boat. Capt. David is a staff writer for Onshore-Offshore Magazine and has written for magazines like Redfish Nation and The Jacksonville Fisherman. He has been featured in Florida Sportsman and The Times Union articles by Joe Julavits and Trailer Boats Magazine by Jim Hendricks. He has appeared on local TV- Fun Fishing With Jim Hammond and is a weekly guest on The Florida Sportsman radio show hosted by Rick Ryles. Capt David has been a guide for the Redbone Oldest City Red-Trout Celebrity Tournament since 2002 when he won guide to the grand champion angler, first runner-up angler, team champion and largest redfish. In 2004 he took guide to the largest trout, in 2005 guide to the first runner up and 2006 guide to the largest redfish. However, Capt. David feels his biggest accomplishments are helping local charities and turning young kids on to fishing.
