March 18 Sisters Creek Low Tide
March 18 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
We will launch at Cedar Point Boat Ramp at 10 A.M. This will give you 30 minutes to get where you want to fish and have 3 hours of outgoing tide. The low tide is -0.1 so it is going to low, so do not stay on a mud flat very long. For the FCFF tiers that went to the Strike Zone Fly Shop fly tying night this month, the Shaggy Shrimp fly would be a good fly to use. This looks like a good pattern for our area. Adam Klohr took step by step pictures of this pattern and a material list. I tied a few and I think the reds will like them. Fish the feeder creeks that drain into the ICW, as the tide drops, work your way out of the creeks. If you see fish coming towards you, stake out and let the fish come to you, especially if you are using a trolling motor, these fish can be spooky at low tide, so stealth is important. When you find fish remember where you saw them because they maybe at the same place the next time you go. These fish come out of the marsh on the outing going tide and back in on the incoming tide. This is their pattern. The low tide is the best time to sight fish for reds. There is some good fishing near the ramp for kayakers. There is a marsh island straight out from the ramp. On the outgoing tide the fish will come out of the marsh into small bays on either side of the island.
