Saturday 9/10 7AM Cedar Point – Flood Tide
September 10, 2022 @ 7:00 am - 2:00 pm
High tide is a 9:30 AM and is a 5.4 and if there is an East or Northeast wind it could be higher and with a West wind it could be lower. On Sep. 9th according to my Windy App. an East wind is predicted. Launch is at 7 AM at Cedar Point so I can scout some of the flats to fish.
Files: Only weedless flies will work in the grass. Most all the patterns will work if you get the fly in front of a fish. Dupree spoon flies work very well. Larry Miniard’s Finger Nail Fly also works well. The Old City Fly Shop in St. Augustine sells the Nail Fly.
When his tail is up his head is in the mud so through you fly a few feet in front of him in the direction you think he is going. When his tail goes down and head comes up he should see your fly. You can get pretty close to these fish so you do not need to make 40 ft. cast. Sometimea you will see a fish swimming along with his back out of the water. Cast you fly 3 ft. in front of him and he should take it.
