It is about time we do an outing.

This is flood tide season and we have a 5.9 ht. tide on the 19th of Sep.  at 10:50 AM so get your flood tide flies dusted off.  We will launch from Cedar Point boat ramp.  We will not do food at this outing.  Let us know soon if you want to go and if you need a ride.  We will do our best to match you up with someone with a boat.  Canoes and Kayaks are very good at Cedar Point.   You do not need to cross the intracoastal unless you want to , there are plenty of flats within ¼ mile of the ramp.

Crab patterns are what you need.  Both floating and sinking flies work for tailing reds.  A Dupree Spoon has always been a good fly to use and I am sure the new fly shop will have them available.

I will have some extra flies if needed so look me up at the ramp. You need to use at least a 15 pound tippet to prevent getting broke off in the grass.  You should have some good wading shoes that fit tight so you do not lose them in the mud.  If you stay in the short grass you should be OK, do not try and wade though the taller grass, it is soft and you may sink up to your knees.   You should be able to get close to these fish so you do not have to make 50 foot cast.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone and I hope we have good weather and catch some good fish. ~ Dick
