Mar 16 – Camp Weed Clean-up

We will meet at Camp Weed at 9:00 AM to start the clean-up. Waders are recommended but if you do not have Waders then rubber boots will do. The Lake cabbage has built up along the shoreline and it makes it hard to fish from shore. The shore fishing is pretty good at White Lake. A stiff garden rack (not a leaf rack) is needed, and pitchfork if you have one. We will wade out to about waist deep and rack the lake cabbage to the shore and put into piles. If you are wearing rubber boots you can stay close to shore and rack the cabbage up onto the land. The lake cabbage is easy to move because it is floating on the water. We will work till noon and break for lunch and then work a few more hours. We do not have to clean the whole lake. We did this last year and we cleaned up about 150 yards.

You can come early and fish till 9 AM and then fish in the late afternoon.  On Saturday we can have a shore lunch and go to dinner in Live Oak.
